Dwayne Sealy was elected in 2001 by the Biennial Convention and subsequently re-elected in 2005. Dwayne is a 28-year member of IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local 824 and has worked in many areas of telecommunications work from cable splicing to business system installation and repair.

Dwayne has a long record of union activities. He has served as an IBEW Steward and Chief Steward since 1978, the Legislative Director for Local 824 since 1993, the COPE Director for the West Central Florida Central Labor Council for 8 years and has been an active lobbyist for his local, CLC and the United Labor Lobby since 1987.

When first elected and asked what he brought to the job, Dwayne points out that, "my work with the United Labor Lobby has given me the opportunity to work with teachers, public employees, farm workers, machinists and the entire Labor family in Florida, and I think those experiences will help me serve all of Florida AFL-CIO’s affiliates." He also stated, "I really look forward to the challenges of this new position, the opportunity to continue moving the goals of the labor movement forward and the chance to meet and work with our members."
